Hobbs Farm and Greenery opens for the season for our local customers from May first to October. By appointment only.

We are located on the Barnestown Road in Hope, Maine over looking Hobbs Pond.

This nursery is run by Lorraine Smith a woman who has great love for flowers.

She take's pride in her geraniums. She has over 160 Geraniums to choose from and adding all the time.

Names like stellar, cactus flowered, silver leaf, zonal, fancy leaf, rose bud, ivy miniature dwarf, gold leaf carnation flowered and more.

This is why she propagates most all of her geraniums from her own stock plants, in this way she knows that they are disease free and will thrive when received by her customers.

Lorraine also picks and packs all the orders and checks all plants herself before they are shipped.

Geranium plants are real easy to grow. They do not require a lot of care. They also do not like a lot of water remember Geraniums are native to Africa. These make a great houseplant. Scented geraniums are one of our most popular geraniums to grow. With over 100 scented geraniums in her collection we are sure you will find one or two that will catch your eye or nose. Scented have many uses, scents, flower colors and leaf shapes. We have scented that trail for hanging baskets or ground cover. Scented that grow tall for a great standard and some that just make great garden or potted plants. She has some stock plants that are over 25 years old and just keep growing, so when Winter comes don't think you have to throw it away, just cut it back and pot it up.

She also sells fancy leaf geraniums, miniature geraniums, dwarf geraniums and some rare and odd geraniums, also some cactus plants like night blooming cereus a cactus plant that blooms at night only.

Treat yourself to plants that have scent and aromas.

Most of these plants can be grown outdoors in your garden or indoors.

Native to Africa, scented geraniums migrated to Holland and then England in the 1600s. Over the Centuries, cultivation has resulted in more than 100 varieties in an assortment of flower colors, scents and shapes.

The flowers have five petals of the Pelargonium genus, but instead of being evenly spaced, as are zonal plant geraniums, they are arranged with two upper petals and three lower. The scented plants grow from 18 inches to 3 feet tall. They can be grown as perennials in Zones 8 and higher, scented are grown as annuals in (Zones 4 and 5).
